Last couple of days have been mostly good, with the exception of the fact that my sciatica has been really bad. I've been working, but not as much as usual and no classes so that's all good. Got some more collecting done on the thesis, caught up on my sleep (when my back let me sleep, that is). Finished the 3rd Lemony Snicket book, so I'm going to see the movie tonight. Should be fun.
Started reading Jonathan Strange & Mr. Norrell on Wednesday. It's a huge book -- almost 800 pages -- but it goes more quickly than I'd expect, particularly since the writing is quite sophisticated. One thing I like about it is that the plot keeps you interested without resorting to mini cliffhangers all over the place. I'm always interested while I'm reading, but I can easily stop at the end of most any chapter without feeling an urgent need to finish the book right now, which in a book of this length would be a difficult proposition.
