Marcus Aurelius is inconsistent. At one point he says "nothing is evil which is according to nature" and barely 2 pages later he says of the body and soul "the one is intelligence and deity; the other is earth and corruption." As if the human "vessel" is not "according to nature." I feel cheated. I thought these ancient classic philosophers were supposed to be impressive.

And yes, this is what I do when I'm sick and awake at an ungodly hour of the morning.

Welcome to a new program. We're going to call it 'one of Gwyn's crazy ideas'. See, I really like reading aloud to people, but my brother's a little old for it, not to mention living far away, and I don't really know anyone around here who wants to listen to me read. So I had an idea. I'm going to read to you, my adoring public.

Every night (theoretically, it'll probably be more like 4-6 a week) I'll read a chapter of a novel into the phone and submit it as a voice post. That is, assuming I can get this voice post thing working properly.

So, for our first selection, I will be reading from Dealing With Dragons by Patricia C. Read.

This is, in case you're wondering, family friendly. If I decide at some point to choose a book that is not, I shall make it quite clear. Otherwise, you may assume your toddler can listen. Assuming he/she can stay still that long.
