For any anime geeks out there . . .

I don't suppose anyone knows where to start looking for sheet music for an anime soundtrack? There's this gorgeous little piece of piano instrumental off the .hack//SIGN OST called "a bit of happiness" that I'd love to be able to play. But somehow I doubt your basic music store would carry it.

Well, there's a pretty big community of geeks who make guitar tabs out of their favorite songs. Even piano songs. You could try doing searches for .hack and "guitar tab" or something. And from the tab you can work out the piano bits.

I've gotten anime sheet music several ways:

1) Ebay (*extremely* overpriced... Not going to say how much I paid for the Utena movie soundtrack sheet music book, even if it *was* half what I originally saw it for the previous year..)

2) Find it online. Some people've either already scanned from the books, or made their own and put them online.

3) animenation.com sometimes has a very limited selection of imported sheet music books.

4) jpqueen.com is also possible. I've never looked for sheet music there, but they do get a wide variety of things in, and if it's in their database at all, you can add it to a 'send me email alerts when you get this item in stock' list.

5) Find a midi of the piece you need the sheet music for, and open it in a program like Noteworthy Composer to make your own sheet music of it.
