Have you tried music therapy? I don't know which buttons music pushes for you, or in what ways each type of music hits you. That said, for me, a bit of light, frothy, pop music usually helps diffuse storm clouds like that for me. Now, I'm not talking about some of the dancey-dance stuff... that sends me in another direction entirely but... well, anyway, you get the idea, yes?
