Jan. 13th, 2004 07:57 pmThe swollen gum above my lower wisdom tooth is back again. I guess this is an indication that I'm going to have to have them out sooner rather than later. Unfortunately the dental insurance I got shows that the closest Oral Surgeon that participates is in Charleston. I've looked at several other plans as well, and none of them show any participating oral surgeons in Columbia, even though the Yellow Pages lists several. I'm not sure what the deal is, but I'm going to call the insurance people tomorrow to see if we can't find somebody closer. Even with the insurance this is going to cost a lot of money. I guess the first step is to get a panoramic x-ray and see what the status of the other 3 teeth that aren't giving me trouble is. Then I can weigh the pros/cons of having them all done at once which will be financially difficult, to say the least, or just going after the problem tooth, which I can probably afford.
All very annoying. Oh, and thanks to whoever suggested Hydrogen Peroxide last time the gum over the tooth got infected. It worked last time and I've been using it this time too, so hopefully it will go away soon.
