Feb. 23rd, 2004 10:28 amSince we're studying Twelfth Night in my Shakespeare class, a lot of the criticism I've been reading has made mention of Robert Armin, the actor who played Feste in the original production. And I have to start every time I see his name, because he's a character in Pamela Dean's Tam Lin, which I've read so many times my original copy started to fall apart, and I had to get another. And I always knew, reading it, that Armin was a historical figure, but until now I hadn't read much about him. So it's still disorienting to see what I still think of as a character in a novel in a piece of literary criticism. Not to mention that I keep wanting to put attributes of the fictionalised Armin onto the real Armin.
