Jun. 7th, 2004 07:49 pmOk, so I finally got off my butt and got some stuff accomplished. Called a couple of places for rent -- as it would be nice to have someplace to live come August. Tomorrow morning I have an appointment to go look at one of the houses. It's less than 5 minutes from where we live right now, which would make moving convenient. They take small pets, so the cats are no problem. Has a washer/dryer hookup, but not the actual appliances, so that's somewhat of a bummer, but I don't think we'll be lucky enough to find a place that actually has a washer and dryer that is within our budget range. Anyway, I'll take a look tomorrow and see what it's like.
As preparatory for moving, I'm working on *really* cleaning my room. Not just straightening up, but actually organising and hopefully getting rid of a *lot* of junk. I've figured that it's a lot easier to split the room into four quarters and deal with one quarter at a time than to try and tackle the whole thing, which is probably why all my previous attempts never got very far. I figure if I do a quarter of the room a day, spend one whole day on my paper files (which are an absolute mess) and two days on the closet (it's a walk-in), I can have it clean by next week. This is the goal, at least.
I also treated myself to new set of bedsheets -- all nice and satiny. (They're not actually satin, just knit with a satiny finish, but they feel nice and soft).
So that (along with work earlier this afternoon) has been my day so far. Tomorrow and Wednesday I have to work at the library in the evenings filling in for someone who's on vacation. But I get Friday off in return, so it shouldn't be too bad. I like evenings better anyway.
Now, back to cleaning.
