Joni Mitchell fans need to hear this if they haven't already . . .

I was recently introduced to the 2000 reprise of "Both Sides Now". I've always liked the original song, but this version is breathtaking. It has all the impact of an older woman looking back on a life-time of experience. For the first time, I think, Joni actually sounds like she really knows what she's talking about when she sings the lyrics, and there is something of regret, and nostalgia, and bemused self-mockery, and finally acceptance in her voice.

For those who haven't heard it, I've put it up here.
