Book #54 -- Elizabeth George, With No One As Witness, 664 pages.

I'd forgotten how much I like the mystery genre. And this was a good one. Although coming into a series near the end rather than near the beginning was probably not a good idea. I really like the repeating characters, and it was hard getting hints about stuff that came before. Now I have to go back and read the whole series :)

Book #55 -- Linda Press Wulf, The Night of the Burning: Devorah's Story, 207 pages.

Not really the type of thing I usually read, but it's a really good book, particularly good for kids. It's a touching story about Jewish orphans in Poland after World War I, many survivors of widespread attacks against Jewish villages. The main character is based on the author's mother-in-law, and thus the story has a more personal voice than it otherwise may have had.

Just watched the movie "Jeffrey", which is an absolute gem. Basic plot is the story of a gay man who, afraid of AIDS, swears off sex entirely, only to then fall for a man who is HIV positive. It also features a delightfully campy Patrick Stewart.

Ok, remember when I said Cold Case was a real tearjerker for me? Well, the true prize has to go to Ghost Whisperer. I've seen six episodes so far and every one of them has made me cry. Usually in a good way though. Plus, Jennifer Love Hewitt is hot.
