Description: Dandelion, white clover, balsam fir logs, and birchwood switches.
In bottle: fir and birchwood, with an afterscent of dandelion.
On me: Dandelion and clover, with an afterscent of birchwood and an undertone of fir. Yup, smells like an old wooden schoolhouse in a field.

Daily Tarot: 5 of Pentacles: Unemployment, destitution. Loss of home. Loneliness. Lovers unable to find a meeting place. Affinities discovered through similar troubles. Dark night of the soul.

gwynhefar: (winter)
It started with [livejournal.com profile] shadesong posting her story bit to the prompt What ice is saying as it crackles in winter. Then [livejournal.com profile] feste_sylvain replied "I've heard the ice crack. Just before I went under." This got me thinking: "That would be an interesting companion piece. This is what the ice is saying when it cracks slowly, subtly. What is the ice saying when the cracking is sudden, violent?". Of course, when I told [livejournal.com profile] shadesong she said "Write it!!". So I did. Story bit under the cut for strong language some people might not want polluting their flist:

What ice is saying when it cracks )

I should put a caveat that this is intended as a companion to [livejournal.com profile] shadesong's piece, and thus is following along with the idea that she expressed more clearly -- the words are not actually the *ice* speaking - they are words spoken by others, breath condensing into water into ice, and released when the ice cracks. I should try to figure out a way to make that more clear without having to refer to [livejournal.com profile] shadesong's bit.
gwynhefar: (defeated)
I'm in a really crappy mood today and I don't know why. I'm easily annoyed or frustrated, and I had to literally bite my tongue to keep myself from making a sarcastic reply to a person at the reference who as being particularly obtuse. I should go home early today, for everyone's continued sanity.
