Book #28 -- Jennifer Roberson, Sword-Born, 416 pages.

The penultimate (I love that word) book in the series, and certainly the one with the most interesting plot twists so far. Being the mushy romantic that I am, I am pleased by the increasing sentimentalism in Tiger and Del's relationship (increased being a relative term, since anything is higher than zero). I will be sad once the last one is finished. This has turned out to be a surprisingly good generic high fantasy series.

Dammit! If I had my hands on that guy I'd be the one in jail for murder.

Dear sciatic nerve,

I appreciate that you hurt. But sending shooting pains down my leg is counter-productive. You see, every time you do that, you startle the muscles. And being stupid muscles, they cramp. They really don't know how to do anything else. And when they do that, they squeeze you even tighter than you're already being squeezed. You see, it really is like poking a hungry dog with a stick just because you're angry. You *know* it's going to bite back.

So, please. Be the smart little nerve I know you are, and stop it.

Sincerely,
Gwyn
