You know how in Disney's "The Fox and the Hound" the fox's name was Todd? I just found out that Todd means "fox". I totally didn't know that. I thought it was just a random name they chose. Cool.

Isn't that cool? Do you remember what language that is? Tod (one "d") means death in Polish, I think.

Middle English, according to the name meaning site I was looking at.

Definitely German, though that doesn't exclude Middle English or Polish.

There's a name I've seen a few place, including "Red Dwarf". (I think.)
The name never made much sense until now. Actually, I'd thought "Wonder where that name came from" but never pursued the thought any further.

The name is "Todhunter". So, perhaps it means "fox hunter", or even "death hunter".

Thanks to you for solving one of the eternal mysteries of life.
