I know I've been whining a bit lately, but today and last night have been horrible. Really, what have I done to deserve curled-in-a-ball, muscle-spasming, gasping-for-breath pain and that's *with* the pain meds. And it just doesn't let up. Pain to drive you mad, I swear.
And in other news, Ciara seems to have forgotten that her tail is in fact attached to her, and is treating it like an annoying string toy she can't quite manage to catch. This has lead to some much needed amusement on my part.

Date: 2007-04-26 04:55 am (UTC)And yeah, that's WITH all the pain meds I have available. Usually it gets that bad with a major weather shift (I nearly typed that shit, guess both are accurate!) like if the temperature alters by 20 degrees or more or a massive weather front is moving in. We had high winds last night and I was alternating between hyperventilating trying to keep from vomiting from the pain (which I have blacked out while doing because it hurt so bad) and holding my breath to get relief from the pain.
It SUCKS. It really sucks that other people don't GET that it's THAT bad. There have been times I've cut myself (not a good coping mechanism, no, but it gets to a point where you have to do SOMETHING, and the doctors won't help.) or stuck a needle in my hand several times because that sudden sharp localized pain seems to temporarily reset the pain centers in your brain and for a brief time the overall pain fades and you mostly feel the localized pain...but it doesn't last long. It's one of the reasons I keep pushing my doc to send me to a neuro, it's a logical conclusion that whatever is going on with me, whether it's fibro or something else, my nervous system and my brain aren't working right.
I'm sorry you're feeling so fuxxored...I hope it passes soon. Glad to hear the kitten at least is providing some distraction.

Sympathies, my worst severe pain episodes are nowhere near your level but can cause me to curl up into a ball, unable to sleep or do anything for up to two days.
Hopefully you'll find an effective treatment sometime soon and be able to afford the luxury of simply being pain free and able to function the way you want to :)

in pain? Circe does this all the time and i've always been curious if other
cats do it.
