gwynhefarBook #70 -- Anne Chambers, Granuaile: Ireland's Pirate Queen, c. 1530-1603, 190 pages.
This was *fascinating*. I'd heard of Granuaile before, of course, but I'd never looked closely into her life. She's now made the short list of people I'd like to meet if I had a time machine. Definitely recommended. The idea that a woman in a semi-feudal society could amass such respect and power is amazing.
