Book #96 - Miranda Jane Green, Celtic Myths, 78 pages.

A nice short overview of Celtic myths and what little archaeological evidence exists to support them. Green does a good job with her facts, and gives all the proper caveats when discussing the link between myth and archaeological evidence, but the presentation is a little choppy. From what I can tell, this was one of her earlier books though, so she's forgiven :)

Yes, it was one of her very early books. I think a lot of the info may have later gone into her Dictionary of Celtic Myth and Legend (or maybe it was the other way around, which could explain the choppiness).

Now I must now. Must check copyright info and stuff. Ah, it looks like the dictionary was first.

But--exciting news!--while googling her on the Web--I found that not only does she have a thing for Burmese cats (I had to throw that in for you), but she's doing a new book on Druids for Yale U. Press! (Alas, I won't be able to get that one cheap, like Boudica Britannia.)

Well, I think it'll be a while. I get the sense she's currently either writing or researching it.

However, if you haven't read her World of the Druids I do highly recommend it.
