Book #115 -- David Levithan, Wide Awake, 225 pages.

In the not-too-distant future, America has just elected the first gay Jewish president. Duncan and his boyfriend Jimmy have been working on the campaign, even though they're not old enough to vote themselves yet. For one wonderful day, everything seems perfect. Then the election is called into question and the conflict escalates. At the same time Duncan learns that Jimmy is having doubts about their relationship. For Duncan, a bus trip and a historic rally become the backdrop for events of both national and personal significance.

I don't even have the words to do this justice. It's brilliant and breathtaking and beautiful. I never imagined I could enjoy a book about politics so much, but I haven't been able to put it down all day. Levithan creates a believable future, one that I would like to see happen, and then puts his characters in the position of fighting to protect that future from those who would undo all the progress Levithan's America has made. This one is *definitely* highly recommended.

Book #115? Saints add preservatives to us. I think I'm up to...38?
I need thinner books or more free time.

Don't feel bad. I read voraciously, and I have really bad insomnia. I don't remember the last time I got a good night's sleep, and I know that's contributed to my high book count.
