Book #130 -- Ellen Kushner, Swordspoint, 269 pages.
One of the defining books of my young-adult-hood, and the book that taught me that not everyone hates homosexuals. Beyond that, it's also a brilliant story of of the politics of death, specifically court duels. Richard St Vier is the most brilliant swordsman of his day. Nobles hire him to kill other nobles, or their own hired representatives. But when he kills a noble *without* patronage, things get a little more difficult for St Vier.
Progress toward goals: 302/365 = 82.7%
Books: 130/150 = 86.7%
Pages: 37533/50000 = 75.1%
