Marzluff has talked about this for years, I'm glad he actually studied it. If I ever get off my butt and into the UW, he'd be one of my instructors. I really want that. ^_^
I've also known this for a long time, personally, too. It's like how the birds at the one place I often eat lunch know they can come bug me for food and will sit on the table with me. So comforting, in odd ways.
