Like parts of the East and West coasts which have a European, Asian and Hispanic feel,
a rough arc from NOLA and the coast to Baton Rouge is very European influenced in its culture.

This probably doesn't sit well with the Bush administration and their more fanatical followers who don't think these areas are truly American...

This more in answer to your previous post on no real help to Baton Rouge from the feds and no media coverage except NOLA which they *couldn't* ignore this time.

OTOH, the entire Gulf Area is being hit by one of those unsettled weather cycles we go through about twice a century.
