Did you know you could fly

So I just had the first part of my training for my collection development/department liaison duties. This is the stuff that I'm the most uncertain about. I'll be the liaison for the School of the Coast and Environment and the Department of Biological Sciences. The CD Co-ordinator did a good job of putting me at ease about it, and he seems willing to bend over backwards to help me feel my way around unfamiliar territory, so I feel better about it than I did. Still, scary stuff, because I somehow have to convince a bunch of academic professors that I'm knowledgeable and competent enough to provide the materials they need for their research. Talk about intimidation factor.
